| Blackburn Royal Infirmary opened its doors to the sick in 1865 and finally closed in 2006. This grand victorian edifice with the later additions of an architecturally impressive first world war wing now stands empty awaiting the wisdom of the urban developer. But before that event, I would like to share with you this collection of images taken on my recent explore. It was eerie to wander the lonely corridors expecting to see people. Most surprising, yet somewhat disturbing, the lights are on but there are water leaks everywhere.......The lights are on....but no one is home. |
